Class Announcements Middle School Specialty Program ApplicationsPWCS students in 5th grade have the opportunity to apply to Middle School Specialty Programs. The programs available to Bennett students include Parkside’s Foreign Language Program, Stonewall’s International Baccalaureate Program, Marstellar’s Math & Science Program, or Pennington Traditional School. Below you will find some important dates and deadlines for the application process. Applications for each program are available in the Bennett office.
*January 13: Essay administration (Marstellar, Parkside & Pennington applicants only)
*January 21: Essay administration (Marstellar, Parkside & Pennington applicants only)
*Students writing essays only need to attend one of the dates above. All essay writing will take place in the Bennett Elementary Cafeteria from 3:45-4:45 p.m.A permission slip will come home closer to these dates.
January 22: Teacher recommendation forms due to the student’s teacher (teachers will then return these forms directly to Miss Flaherty)
February 9: All completed applications are due to Miss Flaherty
March 15: Notification of acceptances

The 600 Club serves to recognize students who have scored a perfect 600 on one or more of their Virginia
We are very excited to be starting this new club. We hope that we will have even more friends that can join our group next year. Please encourage your child to work their hardest in school and to try their best on their SOL tests this year! It will address the academic, personal/social, and career needs of our students through classroom lessons, small group counseling, and school wide programs. Together with students, staff, parents, and community members, we will empower all students in a safe and respectful environment to become the productive citizens and lifelong learners of tomorrow.

Class Homework No "Class Homework" exist(s) Class Links A good resource for grieving children. Look under the "resources" section for books and information for children being affected by grief. Learn about and explore 16 career clusters by clicking on the “Explore Careers” link. There is also a link for parent information. Offering solutions for parents, “Love and Logic” will help you determine what type of parenting style you use, what will and will not work with your kids, and great comebacks every parent should know. Career information appropriate for K-12 as well as parents! Select your grade level on the tabs across the top and explore many different career fields. You may search careers, colleges, and even play one of 23 interactive “CareerTown” games that reinforce concepts on the SOLs.
